Inspiration Monday: A Modern Classic Living Room

Monday, June 27, 2016

I am so excited to feature my friend Nealy's space today.  For as long as I've known Nealy, she has always had beautiful style.  Many times I've been over and wonder how her home looks like this with four little kids in the house.  Trust me when I tell you they do live in this space.

This sofa is one of my favorites.  I've recommended it many times to clients since sitting in it.  From all that are wondering, it's a brand that Hom Furniture carries from Jonathan Louis.  Good news is, there are MANY fabrics to chose from!

Nealy and her husband painted all the trim white, as well as the cabinetry when they first moved into their home.  The upper living room wall was painted this soft neutral color, and a simple chair rail was added to divide the white paint walls below.  What an inexpensive way to add some definition to your space!
This is my FAVORITE art.  It was a DIY that Nealy saw somewhere on Pinterest and recreated it in a little different color palette.  It's so beautiful and adds just a pop of color to the space!

There is something so beautiful about the neutral color palette with gold touches and a little bit of navy infused here and there.  It looks so fresh and inviting.

Nealy is a photographer, so she has beautiful family photos all over her home.
This West Elm rug not only looks great, but is super soft too.

I LOVE this mirror!  It's from Ikea, and Nealy changed the finish on it by rubbing some Rub and Buff on it to give it this gorgeous gold finish!  I've looked for it so many times and Ikea no longer carry it... BOO!

Nealy is a custom portrait photographer specializing in newborn, senior, and family photography. She is known for her beautiful use of natural light and modern yet timeless style. You can find her over here at: Photography by Nealy

Inspiration Monday: The cutest home on a budget

Last week after featuring my friends attic, so many of you were floored at how creative she was on a budget.  Well, I have a treat for you.  This space is created exclusively from Ikea and thrifted items and it is fantastic!

Our friends bought this cute little 1920's something home in a small community not far from us.  Since then they have poured blood, sweat and tears into restoring the wood floors, painting everything a creamy white, and fixing it up to create a simplistic and beautiful space.

This beautiful sun room turned music nook is home to a grand piano that was gifted to them.  All the plants in the space add beautiful texture and interest to the light filled room.

A little turn table in the corner plays some classic music as I walk around snapping photos of this sweet space.

The sectional and lights are from Ikea. The rug from Rugs USA, and the tables are thrifted.

The dining room is just as charming as the living room.

The dining table was another gift, and the large art is from Ikea.

Maggie took this stump sanded it down and sealed it for the perfect accent table in the space.

This little wall in the entry is the cutest touch of Midwest in the space.  They painted the wall black, and made this little Lake Superior Stencil for the wall. I LOVE the lines of the stair case as well.

If you have a space that you think should be featured on the blog next Monday, send me an email!  Stay tuned later today for the announcement of the winner of the Beddy's Bed Giveaway!

Inspiration Monday: An Awesome Attic Makeover

Monday, June 13, 2016

One of our friends just finished their attic.  Just so there is no confusion, I did NOTHING in this space but take the pictures for the sole purpose of inspiration for my followers.  This friend has a background in Interior Design which explains why this space is so crazy amazing.  Let me just warn you before I show you the pictures that it will make you want figure out a way to transform your attic.  Seriously. It's that good.  All the fun angles, the tongue and grove texture, and all the mini barn doors.... Well, you'll just have to take a look for yourself.

Your first view at the top of the stairs is breathtaking.

The sofas are from Walmart. They are part of the Novogratz collection, and they cost less than $350.00 a piece!

My friend Anna made this adorable rustic cubby to store toys and accessories. Isn't it perfect?

Brenda managed to fit four distinct seating areas into the attic.  How awesome is that for a well thought out space?

Brenda's dad made all the sliding barn doors and the tracks which saved them a boat load of money!

So great, right?  I loved the different styles of design she injected into this space.  I don't know about you, but it made me want to find a attic I could transform.
